How to measure your bust? how to measure bust waist hips?

Learning how to measure your bust properly isn’t complicated. However, it does require some attention to detail.

Let’s guide you through the process!

Before you measure your chest size, though, we have three tips for you:

  • Use a soft measure tape.
  • For optimal results, we recommend you measure over a thin bra (a sports bra, for example). Alternatively, you can wear a thinner blouse.
  • Don’t be shy! Ask a friend for help if needed.

How to measure your bust in 3 steps

1. Grab a soft measure tape

The softer the material is, the easier it is to measure your chest properly. You can also use a string but it won’t be as convenient.

2. Wrap it under your armpits and around the fullest part of your bust

The widest part of your bust is called the apex. For most women, it should be located right over the nipple. Look at your chest from the top or from the side to identify your apex.

3. Make sure that the tape measure is snug against your chest and shoulder blades. Drop your arms in a natural position

The key term here is “snug”. It shouldn’t feel too tight, but be careful not to leave it too loose either. You should feel comfortable in a firm, yet gentle way.

Important note #1: The measuring tape must stay straight around the front and back of your body. Keep it parallel to the ground, without any curves or twists along its line.

Important note #2: Use a mirror. This way, you won’t bend your neck when inspecting the measuring tape, risking an incorrect result.

Our advice is to have a friend help out. This will make the process way easier. Plus, you’ll have an additional perspective, increasing the chances of a proper measurement.

We recommend double-checking the results to eliminate any inaccuracies. Measuring your bust again takes only a minute, yet it saves you a lot of possible frustrations!

Is measuring my bust that important?

Yes, it is. Your chest size is one of the three main measurements of a woman’s body.

Curious about the other two?

That would be your waist and hips.

A mismatched bust measurement will affect your daily comfort in several ways. The back of your bra might ride up, the straps might dig into your skin, and your chest might lack the proper support it needs.

Not to mention that your beautiful dress will fit clumsily, too!

Avoid these issues by following our quick guide. After all, you deserve to feel comfortable and look stunning throughout your daily life.
